Play Time! Cardboard Castle

Isy is currently crazy for Shrek, princesses and castles in general, so when I saw this sweet DIY cardboard-box castle on Li'l Magoolie a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to make it for her.It was seriously simple, I basically just followed the instructions found on L'il Magoolie, with a few substitutions. You'll need:

  • large-ish cardboard box
  • coloured paper
  • 6-8 toilet paper rolls
  • toothpicks
  • washi paper
  • scissors
  • glue

  1. Cut the top flaps off your cardboard box.
  2. Mark the battlements on the top side of the box and cut out.
  3. Pop a toilet paper roll on each corner.
  4. Use toothpicks and washi tape or scrap pieces of coloured paper to make 4 flags. Tape them to the inside of your toilet paper rolls.
  5. Cut window and door shapes from your coloured paper and glue on.
  6. Try to stop your little one from painting the castle - at least until you get a photo of it!
